"For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your
ways My ways," says the LORD. "For as the
heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher
than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts."
(Isaiah 55:8-9).
Do you remember working those little pencil mazes? You
know the ones where there is a squirrel at one end of the
maze and an acorn at the other end. And you objective is
to guide the squirrel through the maze, avoiding the
traps, to get to the acorn. Sometimes you ended up in a
dead end, but you could always get back on track to find
the goal.
Well life is like that maze. The only difference is that
we are the squirrel who cannot see the big picture. We
guess at each turn and crossroad as to the direction
toward the goal. The main problem is that we cannot see
if the path we are taking is leading to a dead end or
extremely out of the way. That is why God again and again
in His word commands us to call on Him. We can only see
the next step, but God sees the whole picture. He
desperately wants to share the strait and narrow path
towards the goal, but we can be so stubborn and
faithless.
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares
the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope and a future."
Jeremiah 29:11.
Shouldn't we put our faith in the One who sees from the
beginning to the end instead of our own short
sightedness.
