Dear
Friend,
Some of you have heard the following story before. I have told it
many times, but I never tire of hearing it. Recent days have
brought it back to my attention.
There were twin boys in a mother's womb. The boys encouraged each
other and loved each other. They would talk about how great their
mother was. She provided a warm safe environment for them. She
fed them. And from time to time, they swore they could hear her
singing. As they grew older and their world got cramped, they
worried. Is there really a mother or are we just making her up to
make us feel better? There was evidence that there were others in
the womb before them but they never returned. They wondered,
"Is there life after birth?"
The day came for them to be born. They cried and held onto each
other afraid to be born. As the first was born, he cried to his
brother, "I don't want to be born!" But when the doctor
pulled him out, he saw a great light. Then he was placed on his
mother's breast and looked into her face and heard her voice. She
was more beautiful than he ever imagined. She was more loving
than he dreamed. And birth was more wonderful than he expected.
"Things which eye has not seen and ear has not heard, and
which have not entered the heart of man, All that God has
prepared for those who love Him." 1 Corinthians 2:9
Our questions are similiar. Our worries are the same. The answer
is also the same. There is a Father. There is a heaven. There is
life after death. God, heaven and eternal life are so much
greater than our fondest dream.
With love,
Pastor Scott Patz
